Did you ever watch Star Trek? Ever think your life would be better if you had a holodeck? Well I did. I am trying to build a true(no glasses/optic tricks) 3D Display capable of display lifelike 3D scenes in real-time.
Here's my idea. At first I wanted to use lasers to excite the particles in the air to cause them to fluoresce. I soon realized that this was impossible. Also I don't know much about lasers and optics. So resorted to a simpler solution. I want to spin a display resonably fast(1000 rpm) and due to persistance of vision, a 3D image should appear.
Spinning a display isn't the best idea. It would be better to spin a projector screen. Also this picture would have to be updated very quickly, like several thousand times per second. TV's have a refresh rate of 30hz and monitors have a refresh rate of 60-75hz. I need 3000 hz. I am looking into DLP technology for this.
